Founder Of Guru Holistics

I started working in complementary therapies 10 years ago, but only really began working in a professional capacity when my son started school.

This time has been spent being a freelance therapist/tutor, going into various organisations, therapy centres, and spas and teaching establishments on an ad hoc basis.

A year ago I decided to be comfortable in my skin and offer treatments in my own capacity, starting with renting a room on a percentage basis in a chiropody clinic, and now work 2 days a week. Last month I took the next step of renting a room in a hair studio for a monthly rent, which I intend to work 5 days a week, splitting the time between existing teaching commitments, and being a mum.

The time is right for me to spread my wings and mature into a business woman, the past 10 years have acted as an apprentice-ship, preparing me for this.

Although I offer purely holistic therapies, which, in some eyes are seen as luxury treatments, I have been tempted to follow the money and train in beauty. But, have come to realise that by only offering holistic therapies it is my USP and makes me stand out from the crowd.

I have used cosmic ordering to achieve this new business, and already projected to what I want to achieve in the next 12 months, setting myself a goal of being able to replace my trusty car with a more modern car.

The most difficult thing for me at I have found is being able to change my mindset from 10 years of freelance work, to now running a business that has set opening hours.

Looking to the future, I would like to sell retail products to enhance my complementary therapies and continually develop by going on more courses. I will probably progress to level 2 of the auricular acupuncture; I have my eye on traditional threading (hair removal) and more spa treatments. I would like to take a beauty therapist on to provide a completely different service to the one that I offer.
